Today’s ride was only 53 miles.. so we added a little extra through side quests. The entire route was on the route 40, a route designed to connect coast to coast in pavement to help movement for cars and bikes. We rolled through very small towns that had the awe some old buildings. They distinctly felt early to mid 1800’s.
Our first stop was at the basketball court where the movie Hoosiers was filmed in Knightstown, IN. It was surreal to get to shoot on the court! I had no idea they would let us! So cool!
We were lucky to have David on the trip, he knew where to go! He lives not too far from here and really hooked us up! Thank you!!
After that we continued onward with a side wind, heading due East. After the SAG stop we had a group that wanted to stop to get coffee and snacks. We stopped just shy of the hotel by about 5 miles. Worth the pause to chat and enjoy a short day.
We then went 2 more blocks to stop at the Daughters of the Revolution statue. There are 12 of them across the country. Next to this park there was a large rose garden we paused at as well.
We quickly found ourselves at the hotel. The group was meeting for Cracker Barrel, but I headed up to a sushi restruarant I found. I needed to fuel for our 105 miles tomorrow. It could be a long one tomorrow.
