I have about 10 business ideas a day, 15 projects going, and yet want to bike the whole day. I constantly choose to learn new ways to create and push myself with endurance activities...
Where does this leave me?
Currently I'm making silver jewelry and training for cycling across the United States in a few months. Cause, well why not?
How did I get here?? If you understand and know the madness, please contact me with the formula.
For one, I'm out of retirement?! I started guiding again in fall of '22 with REI. They were looking for a cycling multi-day tour guide. Hi, it's me! '23 was a very busy year with me guiding most of July-October in Utah and Arizona. I'm still working with REI Adventures part time, and have arranged for all of May and June off to bike across the country.
As for biking across the US...
I researched all options, including self supported, but I have opted to go commercially with a company out of Tucson, CrossRoads. I love the diagonal route the best, taking me through the route I moved out west on... and through my original home state to end near my sister and her family live!
3,500 miles & 49 days total. (43 riding / 5 rest / 49 nights) Manhattan Beach, CA to Revere Beach, Boston, MA
Between working a few trips, training for cycling across country.. I am playing around with the idea of making jewelry to sell. It might be a long game, it might only happen for a short time. All I know it's fun right now and I'm able.
Let's just see where this side quest leads me.
